Laura Fern Titcomb Moffitt Mitchell, age 81, died June 9, 1985, in Sandy, Utah.
Born January 5, 1904 in Fairview, Utah to Mahoryl M. and Susan Mower Titcomb. Married Howard Cox Moffitt, December 8, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died January 18, 1932. Married Arty H. Mitchell, March 13, 1949 in Salt Lake City. He died January 22, 1957. She was the County Recorder of Duchesne County for 18 years. Active member LDS Church, she served in many capacities including Ward and Stake Organist. She served others by singing at many funeral services in the Uinta Basin area. She served a mission to the northwestern states from 1923-25. She was a Temple Worker for over 25 years in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Survived by to sons, Howard Moffitt, Jr., Fremont, California; LaMarr C. Moffitt, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister Meaveaoux Engleson, Morgan. She was preceded in death by son, Merlyn.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at the Crescent 7th Ward Chapel, 949 E. 10600 So. Friends may call Wednesday evening 7-9 p.m. at the Deseret Mortuary in Sandy, 10055 So. State St. and Thursday at the Ward prior to the service. Interment Bonita Cemetery.
