Frank G. "Bud" Backman, 87, died March 7, 1989 in Salt Lake City.
Born July 30, 1901 in Salt Lake City to William J. and Edith Gill Backman. Married Audrey Mitchell, August 6, 1924 in Salt Lake City. She died May 16, 1986. Employed by Motor Merchantile Co. at time of retirement. Former Scout Master of Troop 45 and Scout District Commissioner. Retired member of S.A.E. in Southeast Lion's Club. Member of the Mountain States Tennessee Walking Horse Association and enjoyed raising colts.
Survived by one son, Dale F. Backman (Dorothy C.), Rederal Way, Washington, two daughters, Mrs. Stanley G. (Mary) Baucom, Salt Lake City; Mrs. J. Tim (Jean) Blanchard, Sandy; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, George S. Backman (Thelma), preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
Family services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 10th at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, where friends may call Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to your local Scout Troop. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
